Job Summary
The Surgery Scheduler plays a critical role in the healthcare team, responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures for patients within a medical or dental clinic. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing multiple schedules while ensuring a seamless experience for patients and physician offices.
2 to 5 years surgery scheduling is desired.
Duties
- Schedule surgeries and related appointments for patients, ensuring all necessary information is collected and documented accurately.
- Communicate with patients regarding their insurance and estimated payments due.
- Collaborate with physician offices, and other medical staff to coordinate surgical schedules and ensure all necessary resources are available.
- Maintain accurate records of patient information
- Send out requested Medical Records as needed
- Utilize software systems such as HST to manage patient data and scheduling efficiently.
- Provide exceptional phone etiquette when interacting with patients and healthcare providers.
- Review and manage Operative repots for accuracy.
- Gather benefits and patient potions due day of procedure.
- Make sure procedures are authorized.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Proficient in 10 key typing for efficient data entry.
- Knowledge insurances and benefits
- Familiarity with HST or similar practice management software is a plus.
- Experience in a surgery setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of Insurances and medical field, including Medicare regulations.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient interaction and support.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $23.51 - $24.69 per hour
