Job Description
HERO is searching for a motivated individual who is looking to join our team as a Biomedical Equipment Technician II. This position is located in Odessa, Tx. and will provide services in and around the immediate surrounding area.
As a Biomedical Equipment Technician II, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of medical equipment in a variety of healthcare organizations across the service area. You will collaborate with our clients to ensure that the needs of our clinical customers are met so that they are always able to provide quality patient care to the community. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a desire to learn new skills in a fast-paced industry dealing with ever-evolving technologies.
Essential Duties:
- Performs incoming inspections on new equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
- Perform repairs on equipment.
- Maintains an accurate inventory of all facility medical devices and equipment.
- Follow's manufacturer specifications and recommendations
- Maintains tools and test equipment needed to perform job functions.
- Complete additional projects and assignments as needed.
- Completes accurate and timely service reports and required documentation.
- Participates in additional technology training as needed.
- Provides Environment of Care reporting and QC documentation to all levels of facility staff up to and including hospital administration.

Requirements:
- Must have at least three full years performing preventative maintenance and diagnostic/repair services on general biomedical equipment or can demonstrate competency on an array of advanced patient care equipment devices and standards.
- Computer skills using MS applications; Word, Excel - familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems(CMMS) is a plus.
Education/Experience:
- Biomedical Electronics Certificate from an AAMI accredited training institution / Associate of Applied Science Degree (Electronic Engineering Technology or Biomedical Engineering Technology or equivalent) or equivalent training required (e.g. military).
- 36 months previous experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical setting.
- CBET is not required, but is preferred.
