HERO is seeking a motivated and skilled professional to join our team as Lead Biomedical Equipment Technician. This position is located in Springfield, Or., where you’ll not only supervise and coordinate the activities of our Biomedical Engineering Technicians but also perform hands-on repairs and preventative maintenance of medical equipment. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of healthcare technology, supporting our clients in providing exceptional patient care.
Essential Duties:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of biomedical technicians in the shop.
- Perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections on a wide range of medical devices.
- Manage schedules and workloads to ensure timely completion of all assignments.
- Assist with training and development of team members to maintain high service standards.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
- Prepare and submit service reports and documentation promptly and accurately.
- Collaborate with hospital administration and clinical teams to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
- Monitor and uphold safety standards and quality control in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in Environment of Care reporting and ensure compliance with applicable standards.

Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance
- At least 5 years of experience working within a hospital or healthcare organization setting.
- Proven competency in a variety of medical devices and standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain a calm, professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
Education/Experience:
- Associate’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronic Engineering Technology, or equivalent training (e.g., military) required.
- CBET certification is preferred but not required.
