HERO is seeking a motivated and skilled professional to join our team as Lead Biomedical Equipment Technician. This position is located in Santa Ana, Ca., where you will lead our team of biomedical engineers at various sites in the region.
Essential Duties:
- Coordinate the daily activities of biomedical technicians in our key service areas.
- Manage schedules and workloads to ensure timely completion of all assignments.
- Assist with training and development of team members to maintain high service standards.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
- Perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections on a wide range of medical devices.
- Prepare and submit service reports and documentation promptly and accurately.
- Collaborate with hospital administration and clinical teams to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
- Monitor and uphold safety standards and quality control in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in Environment of Care reporting and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Ensure adherence to the HERO MEMP and Policies and Procedures.
Essential Skills:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Expert-level knowledge in troubleshooting and repair of a broad range of patient care, diagnostic, and treatment equipment is required. OEM training in specialized devices, such as anesthesia machines and ventilators, is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- High attention to detail and time management
- Commitment to ongoing learning and adapting to new technologies
Requirements:
- At least 8 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance
- At least 8 years of experience working within a hospital or healthcare organization setting.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven competency in a variety of medical devices and standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain a calm, professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of Environment of Care compliance metrics and standards.
Education/Experience:
- Associate’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronic Engineering Technology, or equivalent training (e.g., military) required.
- CBET certification is preferred but not required.
