Job Description
HERO is seeking a motivated and skilled Manager of Biomedical Engineering to lead our team in Midland-Odessa, TX. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will supervise and coordinate the activities of biomedical engineering technicians while also performing repairs and preventative maintenance on medical equipment. You will play a critical role in ensuring healthcare technology operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting our clients in delivering top-tier patient care.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of biomedical technicians both in-house and on-site.
- Perform hands-on repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections on a wide range of medical devices.
- Manage technician scheduling, workloads, and service priorities to ensure efficiency.
- Train and mentor team members to uphold high service standards.
- Provide technical expertise and support for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of service reports and compliance records.
- Collaborate with hospital administration and clinical teams to support seamless operations.
- Enforce safety standards, regulatory compliance, and quality control.
- Participate in Environment of Care (EOC) reporting and audits.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage a team effectively.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Technical expertise in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of a wide variety of patient care, diagnostic, and treatment devices.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital or healthcare environment.
- High attention to detail and time management.
- Commitment to continuous learning and adapting to new technologies.
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance.
- 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
- Proficiency in a wide range of medical devices and compliance standards.
- Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting (minimum of 5 years).
- Strong proficiency in MS Office and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain professionalism under pressure.
Education & Certifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronic Engineering Technology, or equivalent military training (required).
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
- CBET certification (preferred but not required).
