About the Role:
HERO Business Inc. is seeking a Temporary Biomedical Equipment Technician I (BMET I) to support a project-based initiative in San Jose, CA. This role focuses on inventory management, preventative maintenance, and basic equipment repairs for medical devices in a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Assist in identifying, tagging, and logging medical equipment into asset management databases.
- Preventative Maintenance (PM): Perform scheduled maintenance on a variety of biomedical equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturer guidelines and hospital policies.
- Basic Repairs: Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs under supervision or according to established protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance reports, service logs, and inventory updates.
- Compliance & Safety: Follow all hospital, OSHA, and regulatory safety guidelines while working on medical devices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare staff, HERO team members, and hospital departments to ensure smooth project execution.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or a related field preferred. Equivalent military or technical training accepted.
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance or related technical fields. New graduates or candidates with technical aptitude encouraged to apply.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of medical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Familiarity with test equipment is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills for accurate inventory and documentation.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand/walk for extended periods, and work in a hospital setting.
