Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive mental health care to patients across various settings. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with psychiatric disorders, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness while managing side effects.
- Provide health coaching and education to patients and their families regarding mental health issues.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for patients in nursing homes and hospitals.
- Utilize electronic health record systems, including eClinicalWorks, for documentation and patient management.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices in psychiatric care.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing.
- Current certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
- Experience in infant care or working within nursing home settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with gastric lavage procedures is a plus.
- Knowledge of sonography and sterile processing techniques is beneficial.
- Experience in operating rooms (OR) is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of hospital medicine practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
