Mammography Technologist

Mammography Technologist candidates will have the following job responsibilities:
- Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
- Complies with FDA and MQSA regulatory requirements.
- Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
- Assessesthe patient's physical condition and age specific needs.
- Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
- Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient's clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented.
- Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors, to achieve desired high-quality images for interpretation.
- Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, patient identification, and ensures that all breast anatomy is demonstrated according to MQSA/ACR guidelines.
- Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
- Requires utilization of Radiology Information System to accurately show arrival and completion of exams, correct coding of procedures done, and retrieval of reports.
- Utilizes sterile technique for sterile procedures in accordance with OH policy and training. Administers medical aid as required for any emergency.
- Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
- Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
- Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
- Ensures safety of all customers.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines and education requirements.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS-

Mammography Technologist candidates must meet the following minimum job qualifications:
- Produces mammograms and assists in Mammographic procedures
- Demonstrates acceptable proficiency in performing routine diagnostic radiography as defined by department standards as referenced in the department procedure manual and Merrill's Technical Reference Book
- Must complete all mammography patient history forms clearly and concisely
- Ability to keep patient, family members, and other visitors informed of patient's progress/delays as they occur
- At least one year of experience
- Active registry license in the state of Nevada: ARRT, RT (R) (M) certification
- American Heart Association BLS/ CPR certified (within 60days)
- Working knowledge of the English language (reading, writing, speaking)
- Possess computer skills to complete online learning requirements (within 90days)
$31-48/hour
