What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Team Leader (Day Shift and Night Shift) position at Hero Logistics?
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Team Leader to join our team. The Safety Team Leader will be responsible for conducting safety activities on the floor and reporting them to the Safety Specialist. The Safety Team Leader will work as part of floor leadership groups to report safety incidents and lead safety activities to create and sustain a safety mindset and develop a strong safety culture. The Safety Team Leader will lead by example and complete to the best of their ability the following duties and responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Conduct a minimum of 50 Behavior Based Observations each week and enter them into the BBO Database
· Speak in the Start of Shift safety briefings each day and develop new content for the meeting periodically
· Conduct random Inspections on Mobile Equipment, Emergency Equipment, PPE, Safety Data Sheets, etc.
· Comply with all HERO and Toyota Policies and procedures.
· Speak Up & Listen Up and report all findings to Floor Leadership, Safety Specialist, and Operations Management/HR.
· Spend 90% of time walking the operations floor and conducting safety Activities. 10% of time will be spent entering data into databases, updating KPI information, and other activities
· Campaign Safety message and lead safety committee meetings.
· Investigate incidents and support Floor Leadership with gathering information
· Must be willing to obtain FL certification and Scissor Lift Certification
· Must be willing to be available to work Overtime and Weekends as required
· Must follow all dress code policies and be professional.
· Must have good communication skills and be able to read and write.
· Must be able to send out daily end of shift hand over detailed report
· Must be able to work with minimal supervision and work well with others
· Opportunities for growth are available pending performance and results of the progress of the Safety Team Leader.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: High school diploma or a high school equivalency degree: or at least one-year of related employment experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Capability to use business software such as Excel, Word and Power Point
· Ability to write reports, correspondences, operational procedures and work instructions
· Must have excellent team building and conflict resolution skills.
· Ability to effectively present information to managers, clients, customers and employees
· Must possess good communication skills as well as organizational/problem solving skills
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variety of complex situations
