What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscape Laborer position at Heroes Lawn Care?
Job Description:
As a Qualified Landscaper you will be a contractor and work closely with a team and the foreman in order to complete jobs for residential and commercial customers. You could be notified with a minimum of 24 hours before a project begins. With an eco-conscious attitude, you will perform tasks to maintain and enhance outdoor spaces, including mowing, trimming, planting, weeding, and general grounds upkeep, and other jobs of a similar nature in the landscaping and irrigation fields , while adhering to safety protocols. You will use your knowledge and the support of the team to effectively and professionally complete the work assigned to your group. As you work, you are also expected to keep an eye out for potential problems/issues, bringing them to your manager if it cannot be solved within the parameters of the job. Finally, you will be expected to be held accountable for your work.
Responsibilities:
**candidates without tons of landscaping experience may be considered if other work experience and work ethic are credible**
Grounds Maintenance:
- Mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and edging walkways.
- Weeding, raking, and removing debris from lawns and gardens.
- Planting and transplanting trees, shrubs, and flowers.
- Applying fertilizer and other treatments to lawns and gardens.
Site Preparation and Construction:
- Digging, leveling, and preparing soil for planting.
- Loading and unloading materials, such as mulch, gravel, and soil.
- Assisting with the installation of landscape features, such as patios, pathways, and retaining walls.
- Operating hand tools and small equipment, such as shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows.
General Labor:
- Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
- Performing other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Safety:
- Following all safety procedures and regulations.
- Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Driving:
- Driving to and from job sites
- Unloading and loading equipment
Skills and Qualifications:
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping practices and techniques.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- Valid driver's license may be required
- Ability to drive a truck with a trailer may be required
- Ability to field strip, and troubleshoot equipment, as well as provide monthly maintenance and cleaning.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $18.00 per hour
