We’re seeking an Assistant General Manager who’s passionate about hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced, service-driven environment, and wants to help lead a dynamic team at one of NYC’s most exciting restaurants.
THE ROLE
As AGM, you’ll work closely with the General Manager/Ownership to lead daily operations, uphold service standards, and maintain a team that’s both professional and full of personality. You'll play a key role in staff scheduling, service execution, and guest experience, while contributing to our beverage and wine-focused programming.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead pre-service meetings, ensure service readiness, and support FOH staff throughout service
Manage the floor with presence, leadership, and attention to detail during busy shifts
Build weekly FOH schedules, balancing labor needs, coverage, and team availability
Maintain and improve systems for guest satisfaction, cleanliness, safety, and service standards
Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of FOH staff
Support and drive wine sales through table-side recommendations and staff coaching
Collaborate with the wine and beverage teams on pairing menus, list updates, and bar programs
Ensure DOH and workplace safety compliance
Assist with inventory, ordering, and cost tracking
Foster a warm, welcoming environment that reflects the unique spirit of Heroes
QUALIFICATIONS
2 years of experience in a restaurant management role, preferably in a high-volume or upscale setting
Experience with building staff schedules and managing labor
Strong wine knowledge with a proven ability to sell and speak confidently at the table
Bar experience and comfort with beverage program operations is a plus
Skilled communicator with strong leadership and floor presence
Proficient in POS, scheduling, and reservation systems
Passionate about food, wine, and hospitality
Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
