Your Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and talented full-time summer intern to join our Water Design team in Seattle, WA for 8-10 weeks between May – September 2025!
As an Engineering intern, you will gain hands-on experience working on dynamic and impactful projects across Washington State. This role with involve a mix of fieldwork and office tasks, allowing you to apply your skills to real-world environmental challenges. You will collaborate with engineers, scientists, landscape architects, and geologists while contributing to meaningful work.
Here are some examples of what you might work on:
- Preparation of construction plans and documents
- Hydrologic or hydraulic modeling
- Memo or report writing
- Area takeoffs
- Basin mapping
- Cost estimating
- Site development activities
- Project research
- Analyzing project data and performing basin calculations
- Use software programs like AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam
Minimum Qualifications
Education, Experience, & Licensure/Certifications
- A rising college junior, senior, or graduate student currently pursuing a degree in civil or environmental engineering
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Positive attitude and solid work ethic
- Self-motivated with a proactive mindset to meet deadlines
- Aptitude for learning new systems, processes, and industry specific knowledge
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Solid written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Experience with basic computer software including Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to maintain professionalism, including punctuality and reliability
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule (mix of on-site and remote work) in Seattle, WA between May and September 2025
- Basic understanding of civil engineering, stormwater management or related fields
- Ability to apply technical skills to project tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of or curiosity for:
- Hydrologic functions and stormwater management
- Hydrologic and hydraulic calculations
- CAD, GIS, Bluebeam, hydrologic modeling or other similar software
- Previous internship, professional, or volunteer experience in a similar field

Additional Information
This is an hourly, non-exempt, temporary internship position. The pay rate is $24.00 per hour. The position is not eligible for benefits unless where required by city, state, or federal law.
