Patient Care Initiatives Manager
This role serves as a key collaborator with PICU leadership, leading patient care initiatives that are evidence-based and patient-family centered.
Key Responsibilities :
- Apply LEAN principles to develop and leverage human, environmental, and material resources.
- Collaborate with Nursing Education and Professional Development staff to assess the learning needs of nursing staff and students and design educational programs.
- Implement principles of mass customization and standardization to ensure consistency of care.
- Accountable for identification, collection, evaluation, and improvement of point-of-care outcomes.
- Foster compliance with patient care and organizational standards and regulatory mandates set by The Joint Commission (TJC) Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and other agencies / regulations.
- Assist staff to provide fiscally responsible care and utilization of resources.
- Identify and interpret pertinent findings from published research and assist nurses in understanding implications for clinical practice and incorporate changes in their practice.
- Utilizing Pediatric Virtual Systems, design data collection tools and assist nursing staff in completing pre-existing tools to monitor patient outcomes and efficiency and effectiveness of care.
- Promote individual staff development to include clinical ladder, advanced degrees, and certification. Serve as a mentor / coach to staff advancing their professional education and development.
