ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule and conduct routine general and preventative maintenance in assigned buildings or as a member of Central Support Services Maintenance Staff.
- Make needed repairs within the scope and limitations of training and experience. HVAC, electrical and plumbing installation and repairs will only be made by a licensed technician.
- Perform light plumbing duties as required and requested.
- When required, assist the Maintenance Director in the delivery of supplies and commodities throughout the school system.
- Institute and maintain annual general painting schedule throughout the assigned buildings.
- Assist building principal in identifying and reporting capital outlay and new construction projects.
- Assist the Maintenance Director on capital outlay projects when assigned.
- Required to lift up to 80 pounds and work on scaffolding or ladder at heights of 30 feet.
- Inspect and maintain grounds maintenance equipment per preventative maintenance schedule and as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe.
- Fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking.
- Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, water heaters, hot water tanks, and water softeners.
