**Job Description**
Hertford County is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician - Carpenter to perform semi-skilled carpentry tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in building and repairing frameworks, supports, and wooden articles.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Erecting, moving, and working from scaffolding and ladders.
- Performing semi-skilled roof, ceiling, and door repair functions.
- Assisting in the repair of drywall and moving or altering not-load bearing walls.
- Making and repairing cabinets, replacing floor tile, measuring, and marking materials for cutting.
- Cutting and drilling wood and other materials using hand and power tools.
- Joining materials with nails, screws, or glue.
- Checking accuracy of work with levels, rulers, and measuring tapes.
**Requirements**
To be successful in this role, you must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including table saws, radial arm saws, drill presses, hammers, saws, planers, ladders, tape measures, levels, etc. You must also be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force.
