Job Description
This role is to administer all pending Salvage vehicles entered in ServiceNow system, ensure applicable claims are set up and releases are processed timely. The Salvage Examiner completes a thorough review of the facts of loss on each ServiceNow packet before the vehicle is released for auction sale. Claims will have varying degrees of complexity and severity (I.e.: coverage issues, multi-car, fatalities, liability determination, etc). All potential Liability related injuries/events should be referred to liability office for investigation and release approval. The Salvage Examiner will be responsible for maintaining an accurate and current pending along with other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
We expect the starting rate to be around $17.63
What You’ll Do:
- Timely review all incoming Salvage documents for completeness and legibility to determine if they can be used for opening a new file, added to an existing file, or should be returned to the renting location to rectify and resubmit.
- Update ServiceNow system timely with pertinent notes, status of vehicle release and/or document release approval.
- Refer liability cases to liability office for review and release approval.
- Review Legal Holds on a timely basis to ensure releases are processed timely and accurately, and in accordance with Risk Management guidelines.
- Handle salvage calls from customers, insurers, or Hertz locations to determine if information needs to be appended to an existing file, referred to liability, or a new file opened. If new, all information is to be documented in a pre-established form.
- Assist with monitoring FNOL Examiners to ensure timely opening of all files with proper disposition to determine if the file is 1st Party, 3rd Party, or Closed.
- Initiate billing process once auction sale is completed and provide actual cash value of unit less sale proceeds.
- Conduct audit on all closed salvage files to determine if there is a reason to pursue further (such as information in a police report, etc). Key control to identify missed Subro opportunity.
- On all unmatched salvage claims but no VDA, follow-up with the return location for submission of the VDA.
- Meet all quality standards and expectations per Best Practices. Comply with State specific regulations.
- Other duties as assigned by management
What We’re Looking For:
- 3-5 years Claims Management or Accounts Receivable experience
- Auto Damage Appraisal a plus, but not required
- Knowledge of Insurance industry relating to auto damage claim recovery preferred
- Superior Independent decision making and critical thinking
- Strong task management skills & be able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical and problem- solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
