Position: Field Service Engineer / Technician

Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot advanced automation and robotics in laboratory settings, ensuring our systems operate at peak performance.
Carry out planned maintenance schedules for clients, providing essential support to keep their operations running smoothly.
Respond promptly to unexpected service requests, using your expertise to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
Apply critical thinking to diagnose complex equipment issues, using a variety of tools and resources.
Build positive client relationships, fostering trust and confidence in Herzog’s solutions.
Work with technologies across mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical motors, control systems (PLCs), robotics, and basic software controls.
Required Technical Skills And Experience
We’re looking for a candidate with:
Solid understanding of technical manuals, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics for automated systems.
Experience with industrial control platforms like PLC and SCADA (familiarity with Allen Bradley and Siemens is a plus).
Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics and proficiency with metric mechanical tools.
Experience with software for diagnostics, along with troubleshooting equipment using multimeters.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.
Required Personal Skills
Strong communicator who can collaborate with international engineering representatives.
Self-motivated, able to work both independently and with a team, and proactive in problem-solving.
Flexible and willing to travel extensively (approximately 70% of the time) across North America, with occasional international travel.
