What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at Herzog Wine Cellars?
Our restaurant is looking for a hospitality professional with a passion for the art of presentation to join our team as a Fine Dining Server. Our ideal candidate is a well-spoken individual who is knowledgeable about both our style and our cuisine. While we do not require you to have experience with our POS system, all applicants must have prior experience in food service, preferably in a fine dining environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned to meet business needs):
· Servers are responsible for the services and enjoyment of the guests
- Monitor and observe guests' dining experiences. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests
- Must demonstrate a willingness to increase menu and wine knowledge, hold peers to this standard, and expand fine dining skillsets to elevate guest service on a daily basis
· Answer questions regarding our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services
· Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy
· Perform cashiering functions by closing checks and preparing end of shift paperwork
· Perform opening and closing procedures
· Assist with special events
· Perform other assigned duties with the highest quality of standards

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Knowledge / Skills: Must have a friendly and courteous attitude toward guests. Previous fine dining waiting experience is preferred. Must have a willingness to assist others throughout the shift and foster a team environment.

· Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis. Must be able to use proper techniques to lift 25 pounds. The ability to follow directions with emphasis on safety is extremely important.
· Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
