Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking Field Engineer Interns across the United States in Philadelphia PA; Alexandria VA; Springfield, VA; Carrollton, TX; Las Vegas, NV; and Burlingame, CA to join our team.
As a Field Engineer Intern, you’ll be in the middle of construction operations, giving you direct hands-on learning experiences. Our interns have many of the same day to day responsibilities and expectations as our full-time employees. You will work alongside our project engineers and field engineers to learn the construction process.

Duties And Responsibilities
- This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.
- Assist in submittals, field work packages, compiling as-built data, verifying quantities, field safety and quality inspections.
- Perform procurement quantity takeoffs.
- Daily reports in construction management software.
- Assist with compilation of necessary information for all submittals and coordinate with Document Control to ensure proper documentation.
- Assist with coordination of material deliveries.
- Assist with field verifications, inspections, and measurements.
- Work closely with document control and field personnel to ensure they have latest drawings and installation documents.
- Assist with cost coding.
- Review and understand the redline/as-built process.
- Attend necessary briefings and safety meetings as required.
- Attain necessary job specific training.
- Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Pursing a degree.
- Must be flexible in working in both office and field environment as needed.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with a team
- Must have strong organization skills
- Must be highly motivated
- Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
- Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position
- Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.

- Able to walk on uneven surfaces.
- Occasionally ascend/descend step ladders and/or stairs.
- Regularly sit and stand for an extended period of time.
- Regularly kneel, bend, and squat.
- Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position.
- Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by position.
- Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).
