Herzog Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a Linux Systems Administrator in Fort Worth, TX to join our team.
Duties And Responsibilities
- This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and workstations, including user account management and system updates.
- Navigate Linux file structures, move/copy files, execute commands, and analyze logs for troubleshooting.
- Use SSH and command-line tools to diagnose and resolve system and network issues.
- Develop and maintain Bash/Python scripts for automation, deployments, and system management.
- Implement firewalls, monitor logs, conduct security audits, and apply patches to mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Configure and troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, VPN, RAID, LVM, and virtualized environments (VMware/KVM).
- Track system/network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
- Maintain system documentation, record changes, and stay up to date with new technologies.
- Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Linux Administrator.
- Strong understanding of Linux OS, command-line tools, and various distributions.
- Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and security best practices.
- Experience with virtualization (VMware, KVM) and familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes (a plus).
- Proficiency in Bash/Shell scripting and automation tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
- Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen.
- Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
