Why are we hiring….

Our incredible ECC Director is moving on after five remarkable years of launching and growing this program from an idea into a thriving reality. We will miss her dearly. Today, the ECC is a cornerstone of the community: engaged staff, current financial stability, and filled with joyful learners. Now is the perfect moment for a new leader to take the reins, ensuring the day-to-day excellence of our center while bringing fresh ideas and inspiration for its next chapter. We are excited to welcome someone who will continue to nurture our youngest learners and their families..

Who are we looking for….

Our #1 priority is finding someone who is passionate about running a dynamic early childhood education center. Whether you’re a new Director or looking for a meaningful next chapter, we’d love to chat—even if you’re still figuring out if this role is the right fit.

What is the ECC….

Hevreh is a vibrant inclusive Reform synagogue located in Great Barrington, MA, with 340 member households, a religious school, and a thriving Early Childhood Center (ECC). We boldly live Jewish values, to uplift, enrich and transform the lives of those we touch.

The Early Childhood Center (ECC) at Hevreh provides quality childcare and learning for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers (3 months-5 years) in an intimate, child-centered environment. This Jewish informed program is open to the entire Berkshire community, as we currently serve a mix of Jewish and Non-Jewish families alike. The ECC is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. Our play-based, emergent curriculum fosters exploration and cultivates children’s natural curiosity. Academics are integrated into our purposeful play. By providing opportunities for children to grow and to explore, we seek to spark the “I wonder” and “Aha” moments that are so valuable in a child’s development.

Our year-round, full-week program is open to children from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a licensed capacity of up to 35 children. In addition to our small group setting, we benefit from our spacious grounds. Hevreh’s “backyard” includes a fenced area for outdoor play, as well as plenty of space to accommodate nature walks and outdoor activities.
