Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the facility operates smoothly by troubleshooting and performing repairs on equipment and systems. The role involves supporting the Facilities Supervisor in maintaining effective preventive maintenance and ensuring timely, accurate completion of repair tasks.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing operations by maintaining equipment and setting up per Hexagon Purus LDC North America Process Specifications and work instructions.
- Ensure preventive maintenance tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Troubleshoot and identify faults in systems and machinery.
- Communicate effectively with the Facilities Supervisor and other team leads about any unresolved or resolved issues.
- Collaborate with production supervisors to plan maintenance activities and update them on the status of equipment repairs.
- Ensure accurate documentation is completed for repairs and maintenance, aiding future reference and efficiency.
- Assist in maintaining equipment effectiveness, including training, procedure creation, and implementation of repair and safety protocols.
- Repair plumbing systems to prevent water damage.
- Address electrical issues such as short circuits or damaged wiring.
- Maintain HVAC systems for optimal building performance.
- Perform painting and other aesthetic tasks when required (e.g., touch-ups for faded or chipped paint).
- Complete scheduled routine maintenance tasks.
- Follow safety programs, policies, and guidelines to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Strong understanding of repair procedures and the operation of manufacturing equipment.
- Knowledge of plumbing to handle leaks, clogs, and drainage issues.
- Basic carpentry skills for in-building repairs.
- Ability to interact professionally with team members and other employees.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure high-quality work.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes to minimize impact on product quality during repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret sketches, drawings, and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using test and measurement equipment for flow, pressure, current, voltage, and dimensional analysis.
- Strong record-keeping skills for materials, equipment, and repair activities.
- Basic math skills for performing calculations and conversions.
- Knowledge of PLC control systems and simple control circuitry, with the ability to revise and maintain them.
- Familiarity with hazardous waste handling procedures.
- Forklift certification/training.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair facilities and production equipment independently.
- Skill in specifying accurate replacement parts for repairs and completing related documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office software.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a sense of urgency.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
- Willingness to work overtime as required to meet deadlines.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required; a technical degree is a plus.
- A minimum of five years of experience skilled trades workers in mechanical or electrical fields is preferred.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S.
