General Job Duties. Types Of Procedures Required.
Care of the L&D patient and nursing care during delivery. This includes high risk patients. Postpartum mom and baby care. Gyn surgical postop care.
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
Fetal monitors, suction, oxygen, vital signs monitors, OBIX documentation and centralized monitoring for L&D, EPIC for gyns.
Required Skills And Minimum Years Of Experience.
L&D, M/B, gyn care. fetal monitoring. 3 years L&D.
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.
BLS, NRP, ACLS (STABLE preferred)
Shift or schedule requirements.
12 hour nights with some days. Weekends required.
Floating to over units/departments.
Helping hands in NB nursery and NICU.
Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.

Nurse to patient ratio of this unit.
1:1 or 1:2 for L&D, 1:3 mom/baby couplets, 4 gyns. combination of mom/babies and gyns = 1:5-6.

36 hours orientation for travelers.
