General Job Duties. Types Of Procedures Required.
Responsible for the coordination of care, patient assessment, patient education, triage, and various other nursing interventions. Collaborates with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting. Functions within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure. The Sanford Professional Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct.
In addition to rooming patients, Urology often will bladder scan patients, collect UAs, place and remove urinary catheters, including suprapubics. Administer medications in clinic. Assist with in-clinic procedures, including Urodynamics, prostate biopsies, cystoscopies, cystoscopies with botox injections, cystoscopies with stent removals.
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.
Epic charting system is utilized. We also use ultrasound machines, Olympus cystoscope equipment, and bladder scanners
Required Skills And Minimum Years Of Experience.
Proficient with Ambulatory Epic, preferred to have experience with in-clinic procedures.
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.
MN state RN license. BLS - must be AHA
Shift or schedule requirements.
Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
No Call. No weekends.
Floating to over units/departments.

Urology clinic schedule includes 1 locum physician, 1 nurse practitioner, and nurse visits.

Navy blue scrubs. Protective, enclosed shoes. Scrub jacket if desired
Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.
Will spend 1 day with Sanford s education department completing onboarding, epic training, and nursing skills. Orientation of basic expectations in the dept will be completed over 1 day. Will complete procedure training as clinic schedule allows.
