Job Description :
Performs sonography procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision or technical detail, performs variety of procedures that require independent judgment. Provides complete and quality service to physicians and patients. Demonstrates good clinical skills & judgement.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examination
- Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identity, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images
- Reviews patient charts & Doctor's notes before examination. Confirming patient identification with 2 identifiers.
- Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings
- Analyses sonograms, synthesize sonographic information, medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician
- Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental, and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer's care
- Maintains changes and history in the EMR & PACS
- Performs all requested sonographic examinations as ordered by the attending physician.
- Prepares preliminary reports and contacts referring physicians when required
- Reports equipment failures to Director
- Ensures proper sterilization of probes & storage of equipment
- Maintains adequate supplies & linens
- Enters medication used in EMR
