1. General job duties. Types of procedures required.
Process array of surgical pathology specimens that range from simple 88300 to complex 88309 dissections.
2. Equipment utilized in the unit / dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
EPIC One Chart HIS, CoPath LIS, Dragon voice recognition software, bone saw, faxitron, standard instrumentation for surgical dissection.
3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.
Minimum 3 years experience processing surgical pathology cases.
4. Specific licensures and certifications / registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
ASCP certification required with continued CME maintenance
5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
Monday through Friday 0800-1700 hours. No call. No weekends. Teammate will collaborate with experienced team of two pathologist assistants and nine gross technologists.

Nebraska Medicine is designated tertiary care center for state of Nebraska with cancer designation and is licensed for 809 beds.

Anatomic Pathology department processed nearly 93,000 surgical pathology cases in FY2024. Orientation to campus along with policy and procedure will be reviewed prior to surgical dissection followed by competency assessment with Medical Director.
