JOB SUMMARY
The Inventory Control Specialist on 3rd shift plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting optimal warehouse operations. Responsibilities include daily cycle counting, inventory adjustments, and contributing to process improvements for efficient and accurate inventory management. This role is integral in maintaining stock accuracy, ensuring loss prevention, and collaborating across departments to meet company KPIs for inventory control.
LOCATION
Warehouse at HexArmor Headquarters in Grand Rapids, Michigan
HOURS
This is a newly developed 3rd shift is set to begin operations in March 2025. Employees will undergo approximately one week of training on 1st shift before transitioning. The 3rd shift schedule will be from 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct daily inventory counts of raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods, and non-conforming materials per the scheduled cycle count program.
- Ensure materials are stored in proper locations and conduct searches to locate and correct misclassified inventory.
- Verify bin locations, promptly report discrepancies, and ensure accurate stock levels.
- Investigate and resolve inventory issues, identifying and documenting root causes for discrepancies and making adjustments as needed.
- Perform scheduled cycle counts and document results, reconciling variances and contributing to continuous improvement in the cycle count program.
- Conduct physical inventories as required and support the reconciliation process.
- Work with the Warehouse Manager, warehouse personnel, and Production Supervisor to improve inventory accuracy.
- Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to process cycle counts, review on-hand inventory, and monitor current and past activity for accuracy.
- Open cartons, bundles, and other containers to count items or weigh materials to verify quantities on hand.
- Report any discrepancies in over/under amounts or damaged products to supervision for further action.
- Communicate and develop process enhancements as needed, conducting root cause analysis and recommending improvements to eliminate future discrepancies.
- Oversee and execute inventory adjustments for write-offs, shrinkage, and stock transfers as needed.
- Track and report on key inventory metrics, including accuracy rate, cycle count compliance, and shrinkage rate.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly warehouse appearance, adhering to quality and safety procedures.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and as required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School and 1 year of responsible experience in warehouse.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to stay organized.
- Required to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
COMPENSATION
Starting at $22.30 per hour, which includes the $1.30 per hour shift premium, with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off accrual, and 401(k) matching after one year of employment.
