Primary Care Office Medical Assistant (Float)

Heyl Family Practice
Pittsburgh, PA Full Time
POSTED ON 3/3/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 4/27/2025

JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a Primary Care Medical Assistant Position that will initially require floating between both North Hills office locations with full-time placement being at our McCandless Office (located within the UPMC Passavant McCandless Campus) following successful completion of new hire training. We anticipate the training period to be around three months.

A Medical Assistant (MA) serves the patient by providing quality care, compassion, and commitment during their time at our practice – either virtually or in-person. In many cases, the MA is responsible for verifying and recording pertinent information related to the patient’s medical history and current medical conditions prior to the provider seeing the patient. Active listening and empathy are key in the MA role, as many patients may be battling acute illness or an ongoing medical condition and require a certain level of care and compassion. As a member of the care team handling patients day-to-day in the clinic environment, it is essential as a MA to be a team player and communicate effectively with other members of the team about the patient’s needs.

From the beginning to the end of the appointment, our MAs are essential in providing support to the providers (as directed) by completing tasks such as blood draws, EKGs, and initiating referrals to our front office staff. Overall, our MAs are a crucial aspect of the patient care experience with their knowledge, their professionalism, and their attention to patients’ (and provider) needs.
