Summary
As a Service Writer, you will provide customer service to drivers from intake to release of vehicles. You will translate reported problems to actionable work orders for technicians to complete and order necessary parts from suppliers.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Greet internal customers and offer excellent customer service from intake to release of vehicle.
- Order, receive, and inventory all parts.
- Work with vendors to obtain quotes on needed inventory.
- Maintain a customer-focused attitude to compliment a high level of motivation and energy.
- Provide purchase orders and supply maintenance administration with appropriate documentation to support closing purchase orders.
- Meet with suppliers and delivery personnel.
- Support techs with parts needs.
- Communicate parts back orders to maintenance team.
- Conduct physical inventory.
- Clean, organize, and maintain parts bins and areas.
- Communicate breakdowns to maintenance team and work order process that impact parts inventory levels.
- Determine and diagnose issues based on description and vehicle condition.
- Translate reported problems to actionable work orders for technicians to complete.
- Ensure that work provided meets company quality standards.
- Handle and resolve complaints regarding service.
- Maintain records and enter data into computer databases.
- Audit closed work orders for accuracy of work performed based on established criteria.
- Close and audit open work orders from the weekend.
- Discuss work discrepancies with supervisors to improve process and overall performance of the facility.
- Miscellaneous duties assigned by department supervisor as needed.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge and experience in diesel products, repairs, and parts
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.)
- Proficient in multi-tasking and project management
- Highly motivated
- Must be detail oriented
- Secondary education in the automotive/diesel field or equivalent work experience preferred but not required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
- 1 to 3 years of experience preferred but not required

Schedule
Monday - Friday 6:30AM - 3:30 PM
Average work week of 40 hours. Additional hours and weekend support will be required on an as-needed basis.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
