What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook-Part-Time position at HFLW Brand?
The Home for Little Wanderers' Southeast Campus in Plymouth is seeking a Cook (Part-Time) for their program for youth ages 7-18.
Southeast Campus (SEC) is a co-ed residential treatment program which also has a year-round Massachusetts-approved Chapter 766 private special education school, the COVE School. The program is located on a 53-acre site. SEC is licensed to serve residential and day students. The Part-Time Cook has the following responsibilities:
How You'll Be Making a Difference:
- Under the direction of the Food Services Manager, participate in the planning of seasonal cycle menus with The Home's Dietitian.
- Cooks and prepares meals as required.
- Responsible for stocking and stock rotation.
- Receives and stores all food in compliance with food safety standards.
- Maintains a clean and organized kitchen including all new requirements.
- Maintains record keeping as required by Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) for the school programs (i.e. Food Safety logs and Daily Food production records for breakfast and lunch, inventory and purchasing records).
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 – 3 years working in a large cooking/kitchen environment preferred.
- ServSafe certification and Food Allergy Training required.
- Skilled cook and ability to follow USDA recipes and prepare meals from a cycle menu.
- Prior experience working in a residential/institutional kitchen environment preferred.
