Schedule : Monday through Thursday, 7 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. and Fridays 8 : 00 a.m. to 12 : 00 p.m.
Travel : Occasional travel would be required to meetings or job sites.

Position Summary
The HFW Companies partner firm, Taney Engineering, is expanding and seeks to hire a Water Resource Specialist. Your job will involve studying how water moves underground and, on the surface, understanding rainfall patterns, and investigating how water processes work together.
You'll create reports, design drainage plans, and conduct research to help manage water resources effectively.
Collaborating with a team of experts, you'll tackle complex hydrological challenges, turning ideas into reality and making a real impact on water management decisions.
Your work will involve collaborating withing a team atmosphere, problem solving and being trained by industry peers which leads to the potential growth within the organization to level II / III water resource jobs.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study
- 0-2 years of design experience utilizing AutoCAD, AutoCAD C3D, or other computer aided drafting software.
- Software experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Familiar with Land Development concepts and AutoCAD or other computer aided drafting software.
- Ability to transfer notes, redlines or verbal explanation onto a drawing generated in AutoCAD.
- Excellent writing / editing, research, communication, critical thinking, and presentation skills.
- Basic ability to read and understand civil land development plan sets
- Understanding of engineering plans, maps and records.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, remain organized, have excellent multi-tasking skills, and ask questions.
- Software proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe and other basic computer programs.
Responsibilities
- Research the distribution, circulation, and physical properties of underground and surface waters.
- Study the form and intensity of precipitation, its rate of infiltration into the soil, movement through the earth, and its return to the ocean and atmosphere.
- Prepare written and oral reports describing research results, using illustrations, maps, appendices, and other information.
- Design and conduct scientific hydrogeological investigations to ensure that accurate and appropriate information is available for use in water resource management decisions.
- Design the following : Drainage plans; Hydrologic and Hydraulic Calculations; preparing and submitting studies to meet project timelines and prepare take-off quantity and cost estimates.
- Collect, analyze and interpret statistical data in related fields.
- Accurately perform mathematical calculations to aid in the selections of alternatives.
- Design, directly develop and recommend solutions to complex hydrological issues with the Senior Hydrologist or Project Manager.
- Translate the ideas, information and computations relative to plans, maps and charts into diagrammatic form on paper.
- Effectively coordinate with clients, local agencies, utility companies, contractors and surveyors pertaining to any hydrology issues.
- Check plans for accuracy and compliance with local agencies' standards and general construction practices.
Occasional overtime as necessary
