What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook - Part-Time position at HG External?
Shift: Part-time, Saturday-Sunday, 1 P.M . - 8 P.M., requires weekend availability
Pay: $18 - $21/hr DOE
The Cook’s primary objective is the preparation of food items to ensure a high standard of quality and quantity to meet the needs of the residents. You would be handling food in accordance with sanitary standards and recognized food preparation standards.
- Prepares food, including but not limited to washing, trimming, cutting, portioning, measuring, mixing, and panning; following approved recipes, prepare entrees and sides for higher levels of living on and off campus accounts
- Cooks food including baking, broiling, frying, steaming, braising, boiling, and pressure cooking; support line cook during dinner service
- Provides meals that are properly cooked, tasty, and attractive meeting high standards for quality and presentation and ensuring dietary needs are met;
- Takes stock to ensure appropriate quality and quantity for meal preparation;
- Ensures cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen;
- Complies with all food preparation standards and health and safety requirements; Check temperatures of all foods leaving the main kitchen and enter in appropriate logs

Load dining carts with food for satellite kitchens in higher levels of living
To be successful in this role you would have:
- Prior culinary, food service, or restaurant experience
- Food Handler’s certification
- ServSafe certification (preferred)
