What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook position at HG External?
The Line Cook’s primary objective is the preparation and cooking of food to ensure high standard of quality and quantity to meet the needs of the residents. You would be handling food in accordance with sanitary standards and recognized food preparation standards.
Full Time Position, Sunday through Wednesday from 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Pay $18.65 - 25.00 per hour, depending on experience
Line Cook Job Duties:
- Prepares food, including but not limited to: washing, trimming, cutting, portioning, measuring, mixing and panning;
- Cooks food including: baking, broiling, frying, steaming, braising, boiling, and pressure cooking;
- Prepare and cook food for catering events;
- Provides meals that are properly cooked, tasty, and attractive meeting high standards for quality and presentation and ensuring dietary needs are met;
- Tastes food before serving and provides attractive and appropriate garnishes for food plates;
- Ensures cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen; and
- Performs other related essential duties as required.
To be successful in the role, you would have:
- Food Handler’s or ServSafe certification required
- Prior food service, fast food or restaurant experience
- Prior experience working with seniors (preferred)
- Availability that might include evenings, weekends, & holidays
