Job Title: 1st Shift Group Lead
Department: Operations
Reports To: Area Manager
Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Location: On-site
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Group Lead will be required to assist the Area Manager with tasks and responsibilities. The group lead will need to ensure that employees are trained and supervised in the proper technique and use of equipment, product inspection procedures, and other objectives set forth by the organization.
They will be responsible for building a trusting, high-performing team, building positive relationships with internal customers, and achieving the annual goals for the department. They will accomplish this by setting goals, coaching, delivering feedback, managing conflict, and holding their team and themselves accountable.
The group lead’s success will be determined based on team feedback and the ability to meet departmental goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Accountable for the safety, efficiency, and quality of the department
- Provide goals, coaching, feedback, tools, and accountability to the team
- Effectively manages conflict
- Schedules production
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and percentages
- Ability to effectively manage both emotional and social intelligence
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to efficiently manage priorities and tasks based on importance
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Adaptability skills to effectively manage demands, frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
- Ability to work self-sufficiently to ensure accuracy and quality of tasks
- Ability to navigate and resolve internal or external situations effectively and resourcefully
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, co-workers, and HGC Industries stakeholders
- Ability to read blueprints and identify non-conforming products.
- Ability to manage projects when assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma/GED is required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sitting for long periods - 5-10 hours per day
- Standing for long periods - 5-10 hours per day
- Walking for long periods - 1-5 hours per day
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl – Occasionally
- Push, pull, twist, reach, & engage in rapid reflex movements

Manufacturing plant and office employees can/will be exposed to noise, dirt, dust, fumes, odors, chemicals, and other airborne particles.
