Reports To: Process Engineering/Maintenance Manager
JOB OVERVIEW:
Develop manufacturing improvements/processes to meet HGC product design, quality, and cost requirements. This is accomplished through knowledge and experience in machine selection, tooling design and construction, process design, process validation, design for manufacturability, and project management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Participate in necessary product development and validation activities, which may include:
- APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning), PFMEA, Design Reviews, Prototype Builds, Process Testing (PV, Design for manufacturing, and key supplier development), 8D problem solving and root cause analysis
- Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, machinery, tooling, and materials
- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment
- Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements
- Develop and support cost savings initiatives and proposals
- Works collaboratively with Manufacturing Cost Analysts to assist with developing product costs during the quotation phase of programs
- Ability to complete assignments on time
- Perform other duties as assigned
- The ability to effectively build out project ROI and completion of those assignments
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- High degree of mechanical aptitude.
- Understanding of Manufacturing Methods and Procedures and Process Improvement
- High adaptive capacity to effectively manage demands and frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
- High level of emotional intelligence
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to efficiently manage priorities and tasks based on importance
- Ability to navigate and resolve internal and external challenging situations effectively and resourcefully
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, co-workers, and HGC Industries stakeholders
COMPUTER/SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
- Understanding and/or experience using CAD tools, including but not limited to, AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BSME, BSMET, BSIE degree required
- Preferred qualifications: 3 years experience in sealing, molding, and/or automotive products-related field a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Standing and walking for long periods of time
- Lifting, moving, and carrying up to 50 pounds
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Fast-paced, deadline-oriented manufacturing plant and office. Exposure to noise, dirt, dust, fumes, odors, chemicals, and other airborne particles. May work with or near dry ice, CO2 gas, and/or silicone. Protective clothing/equipment may be required depending on the job task. Work may be performed in areas of extreme heat.

Compensation: The position ranges from $85k - $95k per year, depending on experience and other factors.

Qualifications
Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
