Detailer for Body Shop

POSITION SUMMARY:

Cleans and refurbishes repaired automobiles from the body shop.  Conforms to dealership and/or manufacturer specifications and time allowances.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Washes vehicle exterior, cleans interior and exterior windows and wipes down doorjambs. 
• Applies wax to auto body and wipes or buffs surface as needed.  
• Vacuums interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris.
• Cleans upholstery, rugs and other surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators and cleaning devices. 
• Applies preservation agents to interior vinyl or leather surfaces and treats fabrics with spot- and stain-resistant chemicals.
• Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery and poor mechanical operation. 
• Restores appearance of engine area, rugs and upholstery and painted surfaces.  
• Maintains showroom and stock vehicles in clean and presentable condition at all times
• Ensures all proper stickers are displayed in the vehicle’s window
• Keeps work area neat and clean.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SPECIALIZED TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

High school education or equivalent.  Must be well organized, able to establish priorities and handle a variety of projects and functions simultaneously with minimum supervision.  1 plus years automotive detailing experience is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Position requires frequent walking and standing with moderate lifting (1-25lbs.) carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling.  The position is very physically demanding. The position requires frequent talking, hearing and repetitive motion with the hands, wrists and/or fingers.   This position is located within a service bay environment and is substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
