Overview
Provides assistance by transporting patients within the department, to nursing units and to ancillary departments. In partnership with nursing, assists in providing 1:1 direct observation of patients on suicide precautions.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
License, Certification and/or Registration: BLS for Healthcare Providers must be obtained in the orientation period
Experience: Prior medical and/or customer service experience preferred. Previous patient care preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities: Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and changing tasks frequently. Must be familiar with emergency procedures, legal requirements and standard nursing procedures. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be certified in BLS for Healthcare Providers. Knowledge of hospital forms and patient identification equipment preferred. Must have a working knowledge of medical terminology. Must exhibit the ability to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds; to organize, set priorities and manage multiple priorities, and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
