What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Care Assistant Certified- Cardiology I- FT- 3rd Shift position at HH Health System?
Overview
Under the direction of the physicians and clinical staff the Health Care Assistant(HCA) supports the assigned unit by providing technical patient care services and support related to patients on the nursing unit. Additionally assists staff, physicians, visitors and ancillary departments with routine patient care activities and clerical support as needed. Patient Care activities include vital signs, activities of daily living, transport, and transfer of patients to include discharge. Clerical support includes directing incoming calls and responding to patient calls, entering patient charges in the computer system, maintaining patient charts, unit files and secretarial supply levels and being responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
Qualifications
Education required: High School Diploma or GED
License, Certification and/or Registration: BCLS is required by the conclusion of orientation. Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
Experience: Requires previous patient care and/or two years clerical experience with successful work history. Comparable combinations of education and experience in both clerical positions as well as patient care aide positions will be considered
Additional Skills/Abilities: Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
