Overview
Responsible for conducting Psychosocial Assessments, group therapies, and other classes, individual therapy, teach group skills to unit staff; incorporate knowledge in identifying patients needs in developing and implementing multi-disciplinary treatment plans. Completes Utilization Review on assigned patients (as needed). Coordinates patients stay from admission to discharge through collaboration with physicians, nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to enhance continuity of patient care, promote cost utilization of resources and enhance patient, nurse and physician satisfaction. Train new hires (PCC). Supervise intern students. Assist supervisor with managing group scheduling. Assist with delegating patient assignment to staff (PCC). Lead treatment team meeting.
Qualifications
Education required: MA/MS, MSW from an accredited college or university is required in the mental health field.
License, certification and/or registration: State of Alabama licensure or certification in field of specialty required
Experience: Experience in psychiatric field, with ability to manage group, individual and family therapy
Additional skills/abilities: Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Good organizational skills.
