HHM Talent is assisting a client search for a Cost Accounting Manager for their manufacturing company based in Rockford, Illinois.
This position is full time and onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP).
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to management for informed decision-making.
- Manage and supervise the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts, receivable, and other accounting functions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls.
- Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, providing necessary information and documentation.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations.
- Assist in the development and management of the company budget.
- Prepare and analyze financial forecasts.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
- Provide financial recommendations to management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with an emphasis on cost accounting a plus
- At least two years of previous accounting experience working with Standard Cost Inventory systems in a manufacturing environment
- A background in cost accounting and manufacturing is preferred
- Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and GAAP reporting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently within a team environment
Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
