Job Title: Director of Housekeeping

Location: Estes Park (new business for HHS)
Salary: $75K to $80K
Job Summary:
The Director of Housekeeping leads and oversees the entire housekeeping department, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction across the facility. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and process optimization to deliver exceptional housekeeping services. They will also manage budgeting, inventory, staffing, and training initiatives to maintain quality service standards and adhere to regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement housekeeping policies, standards, and procedures to achieve exceptional cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
- Oversee all housekeeping operations, including daily cleaning schedules, deep-cleaning routines, and special projects.
- Collaborate with senior management to align housekeeping strategies with broader organizational goals.
- Establish quality benchmarks and conduct regular audits to maintain high service standards.
Staff Management
- Lead, mentor, and support a diverse team of housekeeping managers, supervisors, and staff.
- Recruit, train, and develop housekeeping staff, creating an environment that encourages growth and retention.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set clear goals, and provide constructive feedback.
Budgeting & Cost Management
- Develop and manage the housekeeping department’s budget, including labor, supplies, and equipment expenses.
- Monitor inventory levels, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate supplies without excess.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies without compromising quality.
Operational Management
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including OSHA and company-specific protocols.
- Maintain effective communication with other departments to address service requests and coordinate event setup, cleaning, and maintenance.
- Implement technology solutions to streamline housekeeping operations, such as scheduling, task management, and performance tracking.
Guest & Client Relations
- Respond promptly to guest feedback and requests to maintain high guest satisfaction.
- Act as a liaison for VIP and long-stay guests, ensuring special requirements are met and expectations are exceeded.
- Collaborate with guest services and front office teams to provide a seamless guest experience.
Quality Control & Continuous Improvement
- Regularly inspect rooms, common areas, and other facility sections to ensure compliance with cleanliness and operational standards.
- Develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing service efficiency and quality.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and technological advances to maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma
- Experience: 5 years in a housekeeping role, with at least 3 years in a managerial position, ideally within a large hotel or resort environment.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Familiarity with housekeeping software and systems
Additional Requirements:
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as necessary.
- Physical capability to perform duties, including standing, walking, and lifting, as required.
- Proficiency in multiple languages (preferred).
