Job Description
East Hawaii Health Clinics has an opening for a Clinic Supervisor to provide leadership and support for our Hilo-based Primary Care at 1285 Waianuenue Avenue. This position supervises and coordinates the activities of these clinics, recommends changes in management policies and procedures and performs other duties as required.
JOB DUTIES:
Organizes, coordinates and supervises various programs of clinical services and activities for medical and/or surgical clinics; maintains clinic operation policies and procedures; recommends solutions to problems and changes to policies for more efficient and economical clinic operations; responsible for the preparation and expenditure control of the clinic budget; inventory maintenance and control; prepares reports as assigned; and initiates and maintains good relationships with the public and community organizations.
Knowledge of: Principles and practices of supervision; personnel administration; cost accounting methods and systems; governmental organizations and functions; budget preparation and control; public relations; purchasing and storage methods.
Ability to: Interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations and policies; secure and analyze facts and data and make decisions; develop policies and procedures; analyze financial statements and reports; prepare reports; maintain cooperative working relationships; meet and deal effectively with the public.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Specialized Experience: Two (2) years of work experience in the coordination and management of a medical/surgical clinic. This experience must demonstrate the applicant’s knowledge of the procedures, policies and practices of a medical/surgical clinic operation; budget formulation and justification; personnel management; hospital or allied medical care facility procedures; and various medical assistance programs.
Supervisory Experience: One (1) year of supervisory work experience which demonstrated the applicant's knowledge of and ability to apply the principles, practices, techniques and methods of supervision including: (1) planning, organizing and directing the work of others; (2) assigning and reviewing work; (3) advising others on difficult work problems; (4) timing and scheduling work; and (5) training and developing employees.

- Rates listed for paid holidays, vacation and sick days are for 1.0 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) positions assigned to 8 hour shifts. Accruals for these benefits are otherwise prorated based on FTE.
Pre-Employment Health Requirements
Offers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes a drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, a tuberculosis (TB) screen. The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
