Primary Role:
The General Manager/Service Manager is responsible for the overall management and execution of large commercial roofing projects, with a focus on service calls, maintenance, and repairs within a designated territory. This role is critical for driving territory goals and objectives in collaboration with senior leadership, while also managing financial aspects such as profit and loss, revenue, and expenses.
Key Duties:
- Team Management: Supervise service representatives and field roof installers to ensure high-quality installation, maintenance, and repair services.
- Service Contracts Oversight: Manage service contracts and direct support services to optimize operational efficiency.
- Policy Development: Establish guidelines, policies, and procedures to facilitate efficient service delivery and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Customer Issue Resolution: Utilize professional experience and collaborate with various teams to effectively resolve customer issues and improve service outcomes.
- Project Delivery Oversight: Direct the delivery of projects and services, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, and handle hiring, termination, and performance reviews.
- Field Operations Management: Direct field personnel and their deployment to meet customer service standards, while managing daily operations to ensure service levels are achieved.
- Training and Scheduling: Oversee the scheduling and training of field service and sales representatives to enhance team effectiveness.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyze key performance indicators and develop action plans to meet operational targets.
- Financial Management: Manage departmental finances, including budgeting, project invoicing, and budget report analysis, while preparing budget modifications and recommendations.
- Customer Relationship Building: Strengthen existing customer relationships and identify opportunities for selling additional services, such as preventive maintenance programs.
- Project Management Maintenance: Maintain and update the project management tracking tool and ensure proper organization of construction documents.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively plan and organize tasks while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to manage budgets and motivate teams.
Education/Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; however, equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- A minimum of five years of experience in the commercial roofing industry or a related field, including experience in estimating and managing service project work.

- Travel is required based on project proximity and customer demands. The role may involve climbing ladders and stairs, and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds, with standing and walking required for up to 50% of the time.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
