The Hotel Restaurant Server is responsible for providing high-quality service to guests in the hotel's restaurant, ensuring their dining experience is enjoyable and meets the hotel's service standards. The server will take food and beverage orders, deliver them promptly, and attend to guests' needs throughout their meal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting and Seating Guests: Greet guests as they arrive in the restaurant, escort them to their table, and provide menus.
- Taking Orders: Accurately take food and beverage orders from guests, answer questions about the menu, make recommendations, and provide details on daily specials.
- Serving Food and Beverages: Deliver food and beverages to guests promptly and in an organized manner, ensuring the correct order is served.
- Maintaining Cleanliness: Ensure that tables, chairs, and restaurant areas are clean and tidy. Clean and reset tables after guests leave.
- Checking on Guests: Monitor guests’ satisfaction throughout their meal, addressing any special requests or concerns and ensuring prompt service.
- Processing Payments: Accurately handle guest payments, including processing credit cards, cash, and other forms of payment.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other restaurant servers to ensure smooth service.
- Up-Selling: Suggest additional items such as desserts, appetizers, or drinks to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
- Compliance with Health and Safety Standards: Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the safety of both guests and staff.
- Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Respond to guest complaints or concerns and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, carry heavy trays, and walk long distances within the hotel.
- Knowledge of Menu Items: Familiarity with the hotel’s menu, specials, and available beverages.
- Team Player: Able to collaborate and communicate effectively with others in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience: Prior experience in restaurant or hotel serving preferred but not required.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a food service or hospitality role is an advantage.
