About the Opportunity
We are seeking an automation and manufacturing expert to join our team at Hi-Tec Machine Corp. The successful candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining and be able to set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines to produce high-quality precision parts.
The role involves working closely with engineers, programmers, and quality control personnel to improve machining processes and suggest improvements in tooling, fixtures, and setups to increase productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup & Operation:
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines according to work instructions.
- Install and adjust tooling, fixtures, and workpieces for production runs.
- Loading raw materials and overseeing machining operations to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Modify machine programs as needed to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
- Quality Control & Inspection:
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications.
- Perform first article and in-process inspections, making necessary adjustments to maintain tolerances.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to machine performance, tooling, and material defects.
- Maintenance & Safety:
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure proper function.
- Follow company safety procedures, including proper handling of tools and equipment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Process Improvement & Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineers, programmers, and quality control personnel to improve machining processes.
- Suggest improvements in tooling, fixtures, and setups to increase productivity.
- Maintain accurate records of production, machine adjustments, and quality control checks.
