About the Role
We are seeking a skilled CNC machining specialist to join our manufacturing team at Hi-Tec Machine Corp. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines to produce high-quality precision parts according to engineering specifications.
The role involves machine setup, tooling selection, blueprint reading, and quality control to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. Strong troubleshooting skills for machining and tooling issues are also required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup & Operation:
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines according to work instructions.
- Install and adjust tooling, fixtures, and workpieces for production runs.
- Loading raw materials and overseeing machining operations to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Modify machine programs as needed to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
- Quality Control & Inspection:
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications.
- Perform first article and in-process inspections, making necessary adjustments to maintain tolerances.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to machine performance, tooling, and material defects.
- Maintenance & Safety:
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure proper function.
- Follow company safety procedures, including proper handling of tools and equipment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Process Improvement & Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineers, programmers, and quality control personnel to improve machining processes.
- Suggest improvements in tooling, fixtures, and setups to increase productivity.
- Maintain accurate records of production, machine adjustments, and quality control checks.
