Engineer I
THE WORK SCHEDULE IS TUESDAY THRU SAT
Department: Engineering
Reports To: Engineering Supervisor
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY:
The Engineer I- supports the engineering department in implementing design, developing tools and preparing layouts to ensure effective manufacturing processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Under the direction of the Engineering Supervisor, the duties of this position include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Research and draft blueprints, engineering plans, and graphics.
- Review manufacturing routers/travelers for accuracy and completeness for technical data, instructions, drawings and purchase order requirements
- Provide technical support to the manufacturing floor, including troubleshooting equipment problems, identifying and resolving process defects, and training operators on new procedures.
- Use SolidWorks to develop models and drawings of new products/tooling.
- Maintain existing engineering records and designs within company ERP and/or file management system as needed.
- Brainstorm, develop and assess engineering prototypes to improve production efficiency and eliminating issues/risk involved.
- Estimate cost limits and budgets for new designs.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects/tasks as needed.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and production, to resolve manufacturing issues and improve overall product quality.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; and at least 3-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SolidWorks CAD Design software, various MS Products Development software; Internet Explorer software; FileMaker Pro for Inventory and Manufacturing software; Excel and Word or other similar Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.

Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
