Job Description: Hands-On Aerospace Process Quality Engineer
Position Overview: Hi Tech Honeycomb, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hands-On Aerospace Process Quality Engineer to join our aerospace manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace quality engineering, focusing on process improvement, compliance with industry standards, and problem-solving. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our processes meet the rigorous quality standards required in the aerospace sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Evaluation: Analyze and assess aerospace manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to industry standards, including AS9100, ISO9001, AS13100 Standards.
- Quality Assurance: Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols to ensure product integrity and compliance throughout the production lifecycle.
In-Process Quality Inspection of Product when required - Root Cause Analysis: Lead effective Root Cause Corrective Action Investigations into process non-conformances and defects using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) to determine root causes.
Lead investigations for Work Station Audit Findings, Product Audit Findings and Customer Returns. - Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing to enhance process efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Training and Development: Train and mentor production staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practices, fostering a culture of quality and accountability within the organization.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of quality control processes, inspection results, and corrective actions, ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with HTH Team; engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure quality standards are met and maintained throughout all phases of production.
Work on shop floor with operators to address quality issues - Audits and Compliance: Participate in internal and external audits, addressing quality-related issues and ensuring compliance with aerospace industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Aircraft Engine and/ or aerospace market desired
- 5 years of experience in quality engineering within the aerospace industry or a similar highly regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of aerospace quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, SPC).
- Proficient in using quality management software and statistical analysis tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Certification (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) is a plus.
Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
