RING WELD OPERATOR I
2nd Shift
DEPARTMENT: Production
REPORT TO: Production Supervisor
FLSA: Non-exempt
SUMMARY
The Hand Weld-Ring Operator I at Hi Tech Honeycomb is an entry level role designed for learning and growth. This position offers the opportunity master forming honeycomb rings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This role involves learning under the guidance of the Production Supervisor/Mentor, with responsibilities outlined as follows. Additional tasks may be given to enhance learning and skill development as required. Duties must be performed under the supervision of the Mentor until competence is displayed.
- Check honeycomb ring for failure to meet customer requirements
- Prepare honeycomb ring for ‘first article if required by customer
- Perform welding techniques for various splice joints per HTH system procedures and operations manuals
- Learn to read and understand travelers and sketches
- Other duties as needed

Note: Within the OJT period, an employee could be required to work outside of their position level (e.g. Hand Weld Operator I (Ring or Segment) working a Level II-III Job). While this is not the typical practice, it is sometimes needed to support Customer Demand and Product Throughout
QUALIFICATIONS

- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Manufacturing experience is preferred
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- REASONING ABILITY
Ability to understand and apply common sense to carry out instructions written in oral, or diagram form
PREFERRED SKILLS
Familiarity with resistance welding concepts
Familiarity with spot welding tweezers, calipers, protractors, and shop floor tools such as scissors and/or pliers
Familiarity with travelers and sketches
Familiarity with calibration labels for tools

Salary : $19
