Essential Duties and Tasks :
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the operator is responsible for following all policies and procedures associated with the various parts and equipment that they may be required to run. In addition, operators must load / unload parts, inspect parts using various precision measuring tools, accept or reject parts, and communicate any changes, both verbally and in writing
Selects, aligns, and secures fixtures, wire, and workpieces on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.Loads and edits CNC programs as requiredUtilizes knowledge of rotary / linear axes and using G and M codesProgramming / operating / maintaining Wire EDM utilizing knowledge of working properties and processes for a variety of materialsDevelop / Implement process recommendations for improved efficiency to optimize the programs and processes resulting in defect free partsVerifies conformance of finished workpieces to customer specifications, using precision measuring tools and equipment, as necessary.Documents actions by updating control charts, travelers, and ERP labor reportingClean the work tank, table, and wire path pulleys dailyAnalyze and interpret Op sheets, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and travelers to produce products that meet or exceed customer specificationsMaintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needsAccomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishmentFollows all Hi-Tex policies and procedures, including proper PPEMaintains a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping dutiesEducation and Experience
High school diploma or GED requiredWire EDM experience required- minimum of 3 yearsTool and Die Blueprint reading experience preferredUnderstanding the different wire types, sizes, operating parameters for best machine optimizationProficient knowledge and ability to perform manual G code programming edits to improve the processSolid grasp on high school level mathematics necessaryExperience with Mitsubishi controls preferredExperience with Esprit Cam and or Siemens, NX software – Minimum 3 years requiredMust meet the ITAR definition of §120.15 U.S. personExperience in an industrial / manufacturing environment, aerospace industry preferredKey Competencies
